SKI CLINIC

December 15-16, 2007, Introduction to Performance Skiing and Racing Techniques at Trapp Family Lodge Nordic Ski Center Trapp Family Lodge, Stowe, VT

Event Info: Come join us for the season opener ski clinic and an introduction to the new portable snowmaking system at Trapp Family Lodge Nordic Ski Center. This clinic will not only teach the basic classic and skate techniques but will also focus on good uphill and downhill technique. As well as the ski clinic, there will be waxing and equipment presentations. The instructors for this clinic have competed for years at the highest level. This clinic is for the cross-country skier who has done some cross-country skiing and wants to become more efficient or even do some racing in the future. It would also be appropriate for those who pursue another sport at a high level and now would like to become more proficient at cross-country skiing.

The two day clinic includes day pass, lunch, clinics and NENSA (New England Nordic Ski Association) membership at $100 per person if registered by Dec. 1, 2007 otherwise $115, so register early. There will be no day of event registration. This is also an opportunity to stay at the magnificent Trapp Family Lodge at special clinic rates. A 2-night lodging package is available that includes deluxe room accommodations, full country breakfast daily, resort service fee and applicable taxes and gratuities for $222.50 per person, based on double occupancy. If you stay before the event to get warmed up or stay after and practice all your new techniques, a special lodging rate of $145 is available.

NENSA CLUB RACES SERIES

The New England Nordic Ski Association (NENSA) is sponsoring the Citizen Series of cross-country ski races for which team and individual points and standings are calculated. The Citizen Series combines two traditional NENSA race series.

1)      The ZAK Cup, named after Vlasimil Zak, ranks master’s skiers in each five year age group over 30 years of age. (Men: 2 race minimum, best 4 scored.  Women: 2 race minimum, best 3 scored.)

2)      The Club Cup ranks Nensa club teams. In addition to the multiple points that faster skiers earn for the team (based on their finishing place), EACH team member entered in any age class race earns at least one (1) point for the team. The added incentive and camaraderie of the team racing = FUN! If you would like to participate in any Citizen Series races, you need to be a SNOC and a NENSA member (www.nensa.net for on-line membership).
